Sustainability
From Thursday 28 to Sunday 31 August, all eyes will be on Ronse, as the city welcomes the 2025 UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships, the world championships for cyclists with disabilities. Sustainability and environmental awareness will play an important role during the 2025 Para-cycling World Championships.
By integrating sustainability into the World Championships, we are demonstrating our responsibility towards the environment and the local communities where the World Championships will take place. This is being done on the basis of a comprehensive sustainability plan drawn up by the LOC in collaboration with Event Flanders, the city of Ronse, Green Events, OVAM, Sport Vlaanderen & Flanders Classics.
Sustainability plan
From the City of Ronse's electricity grid, which runs entirely on 100% green energy, to the choice of local, organic flowers for all winners. The organisers of the Para-cycling World Championships are seizing this opportunity to make a positive and lasting impact on people, the environment and society as a whole. Sustainability is not an afterthought, but a core principle embedded in every aspect of the organisation.

Sustainability fact sheet
We are doing our utmost to limit the impact of the event with a concrete action plan. In this way, we are making a positive contribution to a greener future for cycling and the planet as a whole. The sustainability fact sheet provides a handy overview of some of the sustainable measures that Ronse 2025 is implementing within its organisation.
