Yesterday was for recon. Today? Full gas.

On the opening day of the 2025 UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships, a total of 14 world champions were crowned. On the program: time trials for handcyclists and tricyclists.

The day ended with a festive podium ceremony on Ronse’s sun-drenched Grand Place. The square filled up quickly, especially when Belgian rider Tim Celen celebrated his rainbow jersey, loudly cheered on by the home crowd.

The atmosphere? Sunshine, music, applause. Ronse breathed cycling.

And this was only the beginning. More time trials and the road races are still to come. The World Championships run until 31 August. Stay tuned.
