This was Day 3 of the UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships

Exciting races today! Dutch rider Haenen just beat the Italian Vitelaru to take victory in the WH5 category. The Belgian Celen became double world champion in the MT2 category, tactically putting his opponents behind him in the final kilometer.
In the afternoon, the Hotond climb was featured for the first time, providing much sought-after photos in a stunning setting. The handcyclists gave everything they had, and only the very best finally reached the Mixed Zone, still gasping after the tough climb.
The Belgian weather lived up to its reputation once again: sun, wind and clouds. A few drops of rain, but no dangerous downpours in the streets of Ronse today. Instead, a strong wind that dried the sweat faster than the athletes could wipe it away.
Tomorrow already the final day. We will miss it, though the people of Ronse will no doubt be glad to have their streets back.
